Multi-Section Attendance allows a scheduled staff member to clock in and out from any pre-approved geofenced or dynamic QR section during a single shift, not just their scheduled section. This is useful for travel staff, drivers, or delivery riders who move between locations throughout the day.

This guide will cover how to:


Setup Multi-Section Attendance (Web)

Managers or Owners enable multi-section attendance per staff member through the Clock Settings modal on the web.

  1. Go to My Team > Open a staff member's profile > Scroll down to the Clock Settings section.

  2. Toggle on Multi-Section Attendance.

  3. After enabling the toggle, a Selected sections dropdown appears. Click the dropdown to open the section picker.

  4. Select one or more sections from the list. Only Geofenced or Dynamic QR sections are eligible — GPS, WiFi, and Photo sections will not appear. Click OK to confirm your section selections.

  5. Click Save to apply the clock settings.

Note: At least one section must be selected before saving. If no sections are selected, an error will prompt you to select at least one.


Clock In and Out from a Different Section (Mobile)

When multi-section attendance is enabled, the staff member will see a section selection prompt on mobile when clocking in or out.

  1. Open the StaffAny mobile app and go to the Daily tab.

  2. Tap the Clock In button for your scheduled shift. Tap the section you are currently at to select it. Your scheduled section always appears first in the list, followed by approved travel sections sorted alphabetically.

  3. Complete the clock-in using that section's timeclock method (Geofenced or Dynamic QR).

  4. Repeat the same section selection step when clocking out or starting/ending a break.

Note: If only one section is available (your scheduled section), the selection prompt is skipped and you clock in directly.


Check Multi-Section Attendance in Timesheet (Web)

Managers and Owners can view the section where each clock event occurred directly from the Timesheet. Each attendance record shows a Timecard History timeline that logs the section name for every clock-in, clock-out, and break event.

  1. Go to Timesheet and open the relevant shift record for the staff member.

  2. Scroll down to the Timecard History section at the bottom of the record.

  3. Each event in the timeline (clock-in, break start, break end, clock-out) displays the section name where it was recorded — for example, Head Office (HO) or Emporium (EMPO).

  4. Use this timeline to verify that the staff member clocked in and out at the correct sections during the shift.


FAQ

Q: Which section types can be added as travel sections?

A: Only Geofenced and Dynamic QR sections are eligible for multi-section attendance. GPS, WiFi, and Photo sections cannot be used as travel sections.

Q: Can a staff member clock in at a section they are not approved for?

A: No. If a staff member tries to clock in at a non-approved section, the system will reject the request with an error.

Q: What happens if Multi-Section Attendance is turned off?

A: The staff member will clock in and out only at their scheduled section, as usual. The allowed sections list will be cleared when the setting is disabled.

Q: Can I assign different travel sections to different staff members?

A: Yes. The allowed sections list is configured per staff member, so each person can have their own approved set of travel sections.

Q: Does this affect shift scheduling?

A: No. Shifts are still scheduled to a specific section. Multi-Section Attendance only affects where the staff member physically clocks in/out, the scheduled section remains their home section for the shift.
