The Audit log report gives owners a full record of organisation-wide activity in StaffAny. You can view who made changes, what was changed, and when.
This guide will cover how to:
View the Audit Log Report
Go to Reports → Audit Log Report.
Set the date range using the date picker.
Use the Search bar to filter by keyword (minimum 3 characters). The search covers the table name, action by, affected user, and changed fields.
Use the Table Name filter to narrow results to a specific module.
The report displays the following columns:
Column | Description |
Date | Date and time the action occurred (org timezone). |
Table Name | The module or data table that was affected. |
Action Type | The type of change: INSERT (created), UPDATE (edited), or DELETE (removed). |
Action By | The user who performed the action. |
Affected User | The staff member whose record was changed. |
Changed Fields | The specific fields that changed, shown as field: old value → new value. |
Export the Audit Log Report
You can download the filtered audit log as a CSV file.
Go to Reports → Audit Log Report.
Set your desired date range and filters.
Click Export. A CSV file will be downloaded to your device.
The exported file is named audit-log-{from date}-to-{to date}.csv and contains the same six columns shown in the report table.
FAQ
Q: Who can access the Audit Log Report?
Only Owners with the View audit log report permission enabled in their Permission Group can access this report. Managers cannot access it regardless of permission settings. To enable access, go to Settings → Permission Groups, select the relevant group, and turn on the audit log permission.
Q: How far back does the audit log go?
Use the date range picker to set the period you want to review. The available history depends on your data retention settings.
Q: Can I filter by a specific user or action?
Yes. Use the Search bar to filter by user name or keyword, and the Table Name filter to narrow down to a specific module.
