Use StaffAny to allow managers to easily schedule breaks, get peace of mind that breaks are tracked accurately, and save work counting unpaid break deductions when consolidating timesheets.

Note: StaffAny currently only supports Unpaid Breaks (ie: Breaks times scheduled and tracked will be deducted from worked hours).

Scheduling Unpaid Breaks

Unpaid Breaks are excluded from Scheduled working hours. You can set this Unpaid Break duration while scheduling for each shift, on either the Web App or Mobile App.

On Web App

In the Web App:

  1. Go to “Schedule” > Click on the slot you want to schedule

  2. Click on “ Create New Shift”

  3. Set the break duration in the “Unpaid Break” Section

You can also set the periods which your staff goes for break, this helps you plan your staff’s break time to meet your operational needs.

To do so:

1. Check the box “Set Start and End”

2. Set the timings for when the staff should go for their break.

3. Once you have created the shift, the shift slot should appear, displaying the scheduled break along with the other shift details. Toggle “Show Breaks” to show/hide the break timings/duration.

On Mobile App

In the Mobile app:

  1. Click on “Schedule” > Assign a new shift

  2. Click “Create New Shift”

  3. Enter the break duration inside “Unpaid breaks”

You can also set the periods in which your staff goes for break, this helps you plan your staff’s break time to meet your operational needs.

To do so:

1. Check the box “Set Start / End”

2. Set the timings for when the staff should go for their break.

Tracking Breaks

Staff can just press the "Start Break" button on Staff's shift.

Depending on the section's timeclock method, Staff will need to go through the timeclock check (eg GPS location + QR Code) before being allowed to start or end breaks. This prevents staff from starting breaks late or ending breaks early, especially when they are covering shifts at other outlets.

You can also view whether your staff has taken a break inside the mobile app.

In the Mobile app:

  1. Go to the “Timesheets” Tab > Look for the staff’s profile > click on the date you want to view

  2. View the status under the “more details” tab

Example on the Mobile App:

Note: You can only view this when you have enabled the “GPS Location” timeclock method. To learn more about the different Timeclock Methods, visit the help article here

You can also edit break hours. Learn how to do so here
