This article will explain the Punctuality Goal Type in more detail. Learn more about Creating and Tracking Challenges.

This guide will cover the following:

Punctuality

Incentivise your staff to work towards perfect punctuality rates. A staff is considered punctual when they clock in on time. If a staff clocks in late or is absent for the shift, the shift will not be counted as punctual. If a staff is on leave, it does not affect their punctuality as well. These records are pulled automatically from Timesheets. Use this challenge to monitor employee attendance and punctuality to detect unwarranted absences.

Example:

  • A staff worked 22 days in a month. He was punctual for 20 days, late for 1 day and on MC for 1 day.

  • His punctuality rate will be 20 punctual days/21 worked days x 100% = 95.2%

Pro Tip: Ensure that your timesheets are updated regularly to ensure that the challenge progress is accurate.

There are 2 different ways to track a Punctuality goal type:

  • Number of Occurence: Helps to count the number of shifts that the staff is punctual and helps to encourage staff to work on time and for more shifts within the number of scheduled shifts.

  • Percentage: Helps to keep track of the punctuality rate of your staff and helps to encourage staff to work on time within the number of scheduled shifts.

Configuring Reward Milestone(s)

Number of Occurence

When configuring the Reward Milestones, you need to indicate the target amount of shifts that you want the participants to be punctual for. Add more milestones to set higher tiers for participants to strive to hit. The higher the number of shifts that staff are punctual for, the more coins they will be awarded.

Note: Coins will only be given out when the whole challenge has ended. Participants who have achieved the target number of shifts will receive them automatically.

Percentage

You need to indicate the punctuality rate that you want the participants to achieve. Add more milestones to set higher tiers for participants to strive to hit. The higher the punctuality rate, the more coins they will be awarded.

Note: Coins will only be given out when the whole challenge has ended. Participants who have achieved the target number of shifts will receive them automatically.

You can choose between using shifts or days to calculate the punctuality rate.

  • By shifts: Count the progress based on the amount of shifts the staff is punctual for

  • By days: Count the progress based on the amount of working days the staff is punctual for

    • A working day is defined as having at least 1 scheduled shift in a day. If there are none, it won't be considered a working day.

      • Any shift that starts before the start time of the challenge will not be counted towards the challenge progress.

    • If there are 2 shifts in the day and the staff is punctual for both shifts, it will be deemed as 1 Punctual Day.

      • If the staff is punctual for 1 shift and late for the other shift, it will NOT be deemed as 1 Punctual Day.

    • To enhance fairness in staff rewards based on percentages, consider implementing a minimum threshold for the number of days worked before eligibility for the reward.

      • Under Reward Settings,

        1. Select “By Days

        2. Input the minimum number of working days to qualify
